Public health laws are very popular among communities and the expansion of public health has risen the average human lifespan from 45 to over 75 over the past 1.5 centuries.
The Prohibition can be taken as an example of the failure of public health laws, but that was obviously too much, too fast.
Smoking is already being banned in many public areas. Littering is fined. Proper sanitation is expected from employers. Etc...
I made this thread because a lot of threads like legality of marijuana, tobacco, and now new mushrooms are fundamentally the argument of freedom (with all its risks) vs safety (with potential of abuse and opposition to human nature).
My personal belief is that there should be a moderation. What do yall think about the prevalence of public health laws and/or its formation into punishable laws?
