As the release of Super Smash Bros. Brawl approaches, we here at Smash World and the Smash Blog are cognizant of the fact that some of our readers are trying to remain spoiler-free. That is to say, they’re trying to avoid anything that might spoil Brawl for them before they get a chance to play it themselves, without totally ignoring any news that Sakurai has to share with us. Thus far we’ve been careful not to include potential spoilers on the front page of the blog so as to protect these readers.

Unfortunately, as more news becomes available, it becomes a lot more difficult for us to refrain from posting at all about spoilers for the game. But, since we want to help our readers remain spoiler-free if they want to, we’ve decided to set up a special “no-spoilers” blog and RSS feed.

The idea is pretty simple. We’ll mark any posts that have potential spoilers in them, and those will show up on our main site and RSS feed like normal. There, we’ll mention things by name and put them in titles so that our—er, braver readership won’t be hindered. Anyone who wants to avoid spoilers just needs to use a special URL to get to the blog, which will exclude all of those posts that we mark as potential spoilers. Be warned, though—there’s always a chance comments could contain spoilers (since we don’t screen them), and spoilers might also be sitting out in the open on the boards.

If you go spoiler free, you might miss out on some neat stories and rumors, too, but that comes with the territory. The no-spoilers site will not include any posts mentioning:

Newcomers to the game (who may or may not be starters—at the moment, since we don’t know for sure, we’re going to be calling them all spoilers)

Any unlockables or presumed unlockables (if we hear Sonic is in the game, we’ll be calling that a spoiler, folks)

And that’s basically it. We’ll keep covering the Dojo updates like always, because if you consider any information about the game to be a spoiler, well… you’re probably on the wrong site to begin with. (Dojo updates that mention newcomers or have screenshots featuring newcomers will be, at least for now, marked as spoilers, though.)

To get to our no-spoiler site, you should access the blog with this address:

http://smashboards.com/blog/nospoilers/

And our feed here:

http://smashboards.com/blog/nospoilers/feed/

If you aren’t subscribed to our RSS feed, check it out—both versions contain the full content of all of our posts, so you can read up on the latest Brawl news right in the comfort of your RSS reader.

The no-spoilers pages are working now, so if you’d prefer to use those, bookmark and subscribe to them now. We’ll keep to the old system of keeping spoilers off the front page through this Friday, but past then, we’ll be leaving the choice entirely up to you.

Well, this is certainly a plus. What about banning people who start threads stating that the DOJO is revealing too much?
