Beyond the mysterious beyond.
I have been wondering this for awhile.

PERSONALLY, I believe the PS1 was the much better console back then. It had many awesome games, and great games that outshined all the crap the sytem had. Which surprisingly, wasn't that much. To me, N64 games were overhyped/rated to sell more systems. Especially during the period where the PS1 had its sales moving fast. Some of the TOP GAMES on N64 show off what it can do but then forget about gameplay. Forexample, while Banjo-Kazooie was IMO better than Mario64, it had large worlds (That looked alike in some cases) but they were mostly empty and dull looking. The PS1 had games that looked better than N64 games, better controler, and people won't name the same 8-10 games when you ask what the best games on the system are. Ps1 was also more detailed, and in some insttances, generate larger 3D worlds then the N64.

I also think that some of the Top game are rather boring. You cannot tell me you enmjoyed the beginning 3 hours of either Zelda game and that every 2 hours the game had you moving through boring dungeons and towns that looked the same. Mario64 had slow movement and suffered from the nice 3d stages but lack of anything in them. Along with very blocky and blandly colored graphics. Goldeneye, while worked, still was flawed and the controller didn't help, Mariokart64 cheats and is terrible looking, and it goes on and on.

But these are opinions. What is your OPINION?
