Im not really a pro, but from what I can see theres one thing pro foxes have in common ( Exceptions: mew2king ).

For some reason all pro foxes discard uses for combos like Thunders combo, infinite shines, ect..
When ever I watched Korean DJ or Ken play as fox, they only waveshine 38% of the time. Why is that? Its because they know in high level play its useless. But why should you care? Your not a high level player. You'll never have to use that hard a thinking. Wrong do you ever wonder why the people who do TRY to face and fail so badly. Aren't you annoyed the same 6 keep showing up later in the brackets? Its because they know what to do, in this case they UNDERSTAND fox. They have massive mindgames, and don't obsess with Technical skill (98% of the people in this section do. ) So this is a message please. Learn mindgames. Be a copy cat.

( Also this "technical obsession" is prob one of the reason M2K quit with fox. He found better, less technical uses with Marth. )

Discuss, I guess.

no, ur just wrong, i just try to win the match, if im not playing good enough to do what i really wanna do, i do simple things in replace of it

I do all that stuff you see everyone else do, it's not very hard, I just never want to risk it in tourney cuz I'm always too nervous to so I play much more basic because of that fear

honestly you're highly inaccurate in regards to knowing what you're talking about with me

edit - i changed to maining marth because my controller broke near the end of 2006, so I couldn't use fox well at all, so I had to change to marth. By the time I got a new controller broken in, I was already really used to marth, so I just kept going on like that.

LOL

So your super duper marth was due to a controller?

Anyways. But isnt that limiting your ablilty to play or even win? I would think someone as so high level as you disregarded such things as fear ( I could understand at an end of a stock ect. )

Also before we duke it out, I merely disregarded you cause you waveshine alot >_>
( excuse LATE replys im switching on and off w/ melee. )

no, I have a lot of fear, and that fear makes me scared to risk a lot of things that I can easily do in friendlies. I did not get around that unless I'm like positive I'm going to win, but if there's any doubt about it then I have a lot of fear.

my marth came because I'm a smart player who studied the game to death, I just merely changed mains because I couldn't use Fox well cuz my controller broke.

I'm not duking anything out, I'm just stating the facts about me since you have them wrong.

I understand your a smart player. But you being scared only limited fox, I find playing Marth much more easy, cause I used to be so technical with fox. But then when I down graded, and started thinking, hey maybe because im losing, is because im not thinking.

Anyway to my point, DONT BE TECHNICALLY OBSESSED WITH FOX. Start thinking and start winning.

Also M2K can I get an autograph? >_>

what m2k is saying is pretty much there really is no need to be flashy, when you might create a mistake and get punished. A basic, smarter fox will always win.

edit: correct me if i'm wrong.

I don't even wavedash when I play, I'm definately more aerial based and I always mess up wavedashing but still win most games without it against people that do. Mindgames do help and simple techniques such as dash-dancing (foxtrot) are a good way to set up an opponent. Waveshining IS used if the fox player thinks it will be effective (slower characters, players that use lag-burdoned moves, etc.). Psy.

What M2K is trying to say, is that you people don't understand him, so stop making assumptions.

Lol, this thread needs to get closed. Anyone who says waveshining isn't useful needs to know what game were playing here. I'm not even going to try to prove my point.

I hope my controller breaks and my marth becomes as good as yours D:. But on a slightly more and slllllightly more relevant note, i've always wanted to know why you switched mains and now I know. Thanks. >_>
