Project M wifi problems

I cant play project m with my friends over wifi :/ we both have decent internet and the wifi safe version. Are there any other settings or something I need to change before i can play?

i'm not entirely sure whether this has already come into effect but Nintendo did say that they would discontinue their wi-fi services for Wii and DS, so i guess this is the reason you and your friends aren't able to play online, so yeah

Wifi is still functional. Nintendo won't can it until May.
OP is having some other kind of problem.

This might sound kinda dumb to ask, but are you both connecting to wifi and have each other added as friends? I had the most trouble learning this because I thought you had to add them on the wii menu, but brawl has it's own friend code for games and you must add them on there.

I'm also having problems, me and my friend are trying to play but 2 different things will be happening on each other's end. I'll be doing whatever and he randomly says that I suicided, and he points the webcam to the tv when I put my controller down and my character is running around and the same thing is happening on my end with his character, any ideas?

Do you have the wifi set? That's usually the problem when you see something and your friend sees something else, but the running around part sounds weird. Make sure you both have the latest version and the wifi set, maybe he has 3.0 and you have 3.02, or vice-versa?
