Project M player looking to learn online play

Hello, I've done lurking around here before, but I decided that today was finally time for me to break out of my shell. I'm very interested in Smash Bros., loved it all my life! Grew up with Melee, played it a lot, but not much outside of playing with my brother and rarely cousins- and very often CPUs. A while ago I saw a documentary on Melee and it completely catapulted me back into Smash, and I don't think I'm leaving any time soon. But now I only have one friend interested in playing Project M with me, and since he's not as into it as I am my skill level is starting to climb from all the CPU practicing.

That's why I decided to join the forums, I think it's about time I get into PM online play. I've mained Ness in about every Smash game I've played, I'm not sure why but I'm comfortable with him most. However Project M's character balancing has encouraged me to also try Roy, Falcon, Jiggs, and Zero Suit Samus frequently.

That's my story, so about personality an hobbies... I'm 17, currently exiting Junior year. I'm a PC gamer above all other consoles, but I really appreciate older Nintendo games, and growing up with Gamecube leaves me with love for a lot of those slightly less old ones too like Mario Sunshine and Paper Mario TTYD. I'm also an artist, I really like drawing and painting especially. And my name- this is my first time using "Weabee," I decided to use it since I love bees (they're cool and you know it) and I also really like a lot of Japanese nonsense, anime included (hence the "weaboo" part). I'll also frequently use yellow Ness to match.

So about online play, I've set up PM to enable online, I just need people with friend codes now. I'm aware that there's a great big friend code thread, but last I looked it seemed kinda old and crowded. Is that still how I would go about finding opponents? Or is there a faster way to get into some quick matches any time? Perhaps I should just tuck my friend code into my signature or something? Thank you for any help!

Welcome aboard! Glad to see some variety around here. The best places to look are indeed, threads. You could also just ask around for some games. I'd be happy to play, but I don't have my Wii or the SD card at this time, I'm afraid :glare:

I've only really been a part of so many communities, but this has to be the most welcoming and helpful forum ever! So many replies to an introduction thread, I feel very welcome now.

Thanks, I was actually having trouble finding the right Melee iso when attempting Melee netplay very recently. Though I have to warn you, I don't think it's legal to link iso downloads like that. Maybe I'm wrong though, I've seen it done before.

I'm glad it helped you. I'm also not sure if me linking that will cause any problems. But as long as it doesn't, I have another video on how to get project m 3.5 emulated on pc also.
