Project M does not load, launcher takes me to wii menu

Project M has always worked fine on my wii (hackless method, full set) Even after the update to the new launcher it worked fine most of the time. As of 2 days ago, the launcher will load, but when i select play project M will not boot. Instead, I will be taken to back to the wii channel menu.

Any ideas as to what is causing this problem? Thing to try right now:
- format SD card.
- update wii firmware (already updated though, i think).

please let me know if you have experienced this problem and found a solution, or if you have any other ideas of what to try. thanks

Only time I've ever encountered anything similar to this is when (at the boot menu) I press the start button on my controller instead of A for 'launch game'. Doesn't sound like what you're running into though.
