Yosh! Let's get right to it, fellow riders of the happiest, weirdest air-game smasher in the roster! With 3.5 out I'm sure at LEAST one or two modders of Yoshi have noticed a fault most strange; Yoshi's neutral and up specials have decided to take on strange, alienistic features! Weird shades of blue and purple blobs instead of that spotted egg that we all know and love!

Humor aside, this aesthetic hiccup is driving me mental and I would love for someone who knows their stuff (I know you're out there) to do one of two favors.

-tell me how to correct this! (my theory is that it has something to do with the new layout of 3.5's default yoshi textures)
OR
-if you DO know how to fix the egg textures and know if it's an easy fix or not...fix a few of the original files for me? I can transfer the files that I want fixed (listed below; I give credit for those who appreciate that sorta thing :p)
*Striker Yoshi (cred. Marvin) [green default egg]
*Boshi (cred. ShadowSnake, Dhragen, StupidMarioFan1) [blue egg]
*Birdo (cred. pikazz) [pink egg]
*Pirateland (cred. tocksknock) [star / yellow egg]

PLEASE PLEASE PLEASE reply / contact me if you can help! you will have my eternal love. Yoshi is my main and with this bizarre hiccup on what is arguably smash's most practical projectile (aside from falcos), it's just very annoying.

It does have to do with the a slight change to Yoshi's texture. Partially. There's a texturedata inside each of Yoshi's costumes that is used for his eggs. All you should have to do is import that into the custom textures you mentioned and you should be good to go. Importing a color that matches would be most aesthetically pleasing I'm sure you know.

I was wondering about that, I thought it was a model issue! Good to know!

And by the way... If there are instructions on how to add Metal, I'll fix the Pirateland Yoshi so his textures are metal compatible.

That sounds super simple amazerommu! i use brawlbox but only for the little things that you cant do inside of lakoras' brawl manager, so im somewhat of a brawlbox novice...
think you could walk my poor little n00b self through this process youve outlined? specifically, what file needs to be opened in brawlbox for an individual costume and where do you locate the egg texturedata in said file? please and thank you? :3

EDIT: I figured out how to open up the individual costumes at least (you think it matters if you open up the PAC or PCS?)
FINALLY found the egg texture. is it really as simple as replacing it with a working 3.5 egg?

okay. i have discovered that there are in fact TWO texturedata files that are labelled yoshi_egg. however, one is its own independant file whereas the other is part of a collection of yoshi_body, yoshi_eye, yoshi_face, etc. which of the two do i import over? (or should i import BOTH over?)
EDIT: all of this is apparently only in 3.0, 3.5 only has the one egg data

sooo i more or less butthole-surfed around the issue; the ISSUE was that 3.5 yoshi has two egg texture files and the old one has both condensed into one. so i just took a 3.5 default yoshi and put old skins on it :p yaaay laziness

Good to see that someone else has noticed this little bug, because it's been driving me crazy too. So could you give some more specific instructions on how you worked around fixing the textures? I have been able to get a good number of things into my custom 3.5 build, but I'm hesitant to mess around with some of the more intricate codes. Thanks for your help!

i was only able to fix the yoshi textures like striker and boshi, who had similar texture layouts in brawlbox to default yoshi. the ones like birdo and pirateland are tough to get a solid fix because of their additional textures that i dont know how to work aorund

Alright, thanks for starting thread anyway. Maybe we could ask some of the more experienced texture people. Currently I am trying to fix my Birdo, Dry Bones, and Koopa Troopa skins.
