I'm looking for methods to improve my edgeguarding technique. When I'm not following someone off-stage, I'm generally near the corner waiting for them so, if they get up neutral from the ledge, I can just grab them an add damage. It's a trick I learned from a Diddy player. However, he had ALL of his options covered. Whether I got up neutral, attacked, rolled, or jumped back on stage, he knew exactly how to punish me and take stage control for nearly the entire fight.

Sometimes, I have other options. If I notice a player getting up neutral, attacking, or rolling, I can throw Ike's Nair out in advance. If they jump from the ledge and I'm Mario, I'll Nair them right back off since it goes through anything they attempt in the air. Mega Man can just keep firing neutral Buster Shots to keep them off the stage, and perhaps punish accordingly with a grab if they still land.

In general, what kind of options are there to properly edgeguarding and maintaining stage control to keep someone off the stage?

Mainly, know your opponent's options. If you know how a character will recover, you can more easily work out how to stop it. If you're up against a character that is more dangerous to you than you are to them offstage, don't go for an edgeguard unless you're sure you've got them. Likewise, if a character has easily gimpable recovery and can't afford to defend themselves while recovering, never let them get to the ledge for free.

If you have an attack that hits below the edge, try to use it just as someone reaches the ledge, because there's a frame of vulnerability as they grab on no matter what. If this attack is laggy, it can be used to bait them into dropping down momentarily while the hitbox comes out, and when they come back up, they will no longer get ledge invincibility. Use that opportunity to drop down and back-air/down-air them as they're returning to the ledge.

If they must return to the ledge, again, know their options. Know the spacing they need for a getup attack and try to hang out just beyond it while charging a smash to bait it out. That's easier said than done, so just make sure you cover multiple options and don't leave yourself open to a getup attack.

Sometimes, doing nothing works. Your opponent doesn't know what to do and you can take advantage of that. It isn't all about what you can do, but sometimes how you confuse your opponent.

I agree with the other posters. It's almost a game within itself when someone is attempting to get back on-stage. Depending on the situation (your character, their character, percentages, etc.), you're going to have different strategies. There isn't really one thing you can do to improve, just try and gauge what the opponent is likely to do and go for it. Sometimes, like Palkia said, doing nothing is best. Mixing it up while edgeguarding is a great mindgame, one that can be the difference between a win and a loss.

Yeah make sure to cover over the edge so your opp recovers from below, then edge steal > edge jump > bair or w/e works for your char.

Two problems though.

1) It's common to miss the ledge and fall offstage, even though you used the same notation as when you successfully grabbed the ledge from the stage.

2) It's only going to work once or twice. It's a surprise technique, and great players know how to get back, jump, and airdodge at once.
