Problems with booting PM 3.6 Help!

So, I just got the new version of Project M off of the official website, but when I try to boot it, it freezes on the green static screen. (By "green static screen" I refer to the small flash of static that appears after going into stage builder and watching the 'booting project M screen') I really want to play this game so if anyone could help that would be AMAZING!

I had the same problem until took my gamecube memory cards out, I don't know why but that fixes it.

Yeah, I figured that out, too. HOW DOES THAT EVEN WORK??
