Alright, I
know my profile says n00b, but bare with me lol.
Wolf's only real effective strategy is forcing approaches with blaster spam. You, as Samus, can beat him at his own game by out-camping him. If he decides to sit and hold his reflector, run in and punish him during his ending lag -probably with a short hopped dair- and combo off of that. Right after that, get out of his range again and repeat.
If he approaches, then you punish whatever he does. Plant a bomb while he's approaching, that'll help. Most unexperienced Wolf players (which I'm assuming he is because he plays Snake?) spam smash attacks. His smashes have little start up lag, but a fair amount of ending lag and they're predictable. Shield and punish. Get him in the air (your lag-less air game > his lag-heavy air game) or off the stage and go for an easy gimp.
Gimping Wolf seems hard at first, but if you press away from the edge, z, and z again, you'll quickly grapple right back on and score some extra invincibility frames. When timed right (at the end of Wolf's recovery) you get a free kill. Going for a spike during the start up of his recovery moves is pretty effective too, just a lot riskier.
Overall, just read him, punish, and focus getting in the air or off the ledge. If he happens to get you off the ledge, avoid his bair, stall with your bombs, and screw attack rather than grapple (I've had my fair share off being ledge spiked by Wolf's bair while recovering with the grapple). With that, and good DI, he'll have a hard time killing you. Avoid using your charge shot and super missles. If he reflects them, they're coming back and hitting you before you can shield. Lastly, if he gets in close and starts giving you a hard time, screw attack out of you shield or down-angle a forward tilt to push him away.
That's all I got. Hope that helps.
