Problem with using the c-stick for uptilt combos

I'm trying to get used to using tilts with the c-stick, I find it easier to land up-tilts on demand. Anyways, I have an issue with fox for example, where I'll press up on the c-stick at times, and nothing will happen even if I keep pressing it. I also will hit up on the c-stick to try to land an up-tilt combo and it'll up-tilt like once or twice then stop. Am I doing something wrong? Not pressing it directly up without noticing it or maybe I'm pressing it to quickly?

you can't mash on the c-stick to do fast tilts, unfortunately. for some reason it only outputs the tilts at a fraction of the speed as opposed to if you were to do it manually with stick+A. so far, there are only a couple of niche applications with tilt stick. (that, and you won't halt your aerial momentum if you use your c-stick for aerials with tilt stick.)

you can use the c-stick out of perfect pivots.

when I'm f-tilting with sheik, and I want to perfect pivot f-tilt to extend my combo, I'll do (stick+A) > (stick+A) > (stick+A) > (tilt stick) > (perfect pivot tilt stick) I input a c-stick tilt before my perfect pivot ftilt because it lets me get the control stick ready to input a perfect pivot as I'm using c-stick to continue the combo.

Actually, you can mash the C-stick while it's set to tilts. So long as it resets to neutral before the next press you can go as fast as you can.

Which is to say that it's still pretty finicky. Unless you're playing Ryu I think you'll be fine timing your tilt presses instead of mashing them.

Yeah, I find the c-stick to be helpful for falling up-airs and stuff like that. I also really like it for grounded up-tilts as Fox. Do a lot of people do this? I learned to just flick the c-stick more so it goes back into neutral position.
