Title (kind of) explains it, but here's a question.

Whenever I use the Stage Manager to put an icon in (Like the Mushroom to represent the Mario Franchise) it seems to replace all icons that the icon replaced.

Example, I put a Zelda Stage over Brinstar, replaced the Franchise name to Legend of Zelda, and the icon to the Triforce, however, this inadvertently did the same thing to Norfair.

So when I do that, Norfair ALSO has the Legend of Zelda as it's Franchise name, as well as a triforce for the icon instead of the "screw attack" icon.

Is there any way to avoid this?

This happens because there is only one copy of each icon in the common5.pac file, and that icon is mapped to multiple stages. The bottom right hand corner of the Stage Manager has a button labeled "Modify PAT0 mapping." From there, choose the MenSelchrMark (franchise icon) that you want to use (it helps to have a duplicate common5.pac open in BrawlBox so you can see what they are). If you are adding brand new icons (say, a Kingdom Hearts franchise icon), you'll have to replace an unused one or add another one (take care not to go over the filesize limit though)

I have no idea I'm just hyped cause you just confirmed a new Zelda Stage for your build. Brinstar blows, anyway. :3 Hope Sandfall was able to help you out.

<Insert funny thing here because your Kingdom Hearts stage is in my build>

Anyways, thanks for the info! However, I have run into yet another issue, it would seem as though some of the SelChrMarks in stage manager have a red outline of sorts, and because of this, the modify PAT0 mapping method won't work for them. (It causes an error which in turn causes the Stage Manager to close.)

Any reason as to why this happens? Because if it can't be fixed, I'm gonna have some stages with a few out of place icons xD

Uh, could you show me a screenshot of this? I'm not quite sure what error you're encountering.

Here's a picture showing the "red outline" which causes it to be unable to be replaced when using PAT0

And here's the picture of the actual error which causes the Stage Manager to close.

Hmmm, odd. I use the stage expansion template for my build and that issue isn't present (even on the non-expansion stages). It seems to be a Vanilla Project M thing. I'd suggest PMing Libertyernie (the one who made the stage managers and the stage expansion template) and ask him why this is and/or how to fix it. For the moment though, a workaround would be to change the icon of a different stage and then remap it to a different one. For example, if you wanted to change Frigate Orpheon's icon, put the icon you wanted onto Norfair or Brinstar and then remap Norfair and Brinstar to another icon. That should work (hopefully).

I actually have tried that, and unfortunately it did not work, oh well I suppose, I'll fix in in a fix patch or something, I'm sure people won't mind. I just don't want to delay the next release of my build just because of some silly icons people will only see for only 2 seconds, and that's even if they bother to look at it for whatever reason.

I personally have a black pixel and replaced all of them with it, so now it looks fresher with less clutter and a smaller file size.

Y'know that is actually a pretty good idea, I might actually do that on the finishing touch-ups. Thanks for the input mate.
I often just give up and turn them all into the Smashbros icon for consistency. The way it's set up sucks honestly but oh well.

We work with what we've been given.
