Problem with marth technique

Ellos people, so I've played marth on a more competitive level for a few months now and getting all the techs. However there's one that I can't put my fingers on how it is performed. In Ken's marth tutioral he talks about how u can cancel marth's dash with a crouch and follow up with a dtilt. I see people like PPMD, Pewpewu, m2k, all these people dashing back and forth and commiting with the occasional quick dtilts, however when I try it, I either end up doing a dashattack or I have to do it super slow. I know that you're supposed to hold down the control stick n stuff but could anyone maybe tell me a little bit more detailed how the move is executed? Cheers

I don't know if this will help, but you also have to be in the run animation which happens after the initial dash animation used in the dash dance. After Marth starts to take multiple steps, you can crouch and DTilt hella easy. There's also the wavedash dtilt if you're too close to get said run animation, too.

He meant to say Run Cancel D-tilt. The dash animation is where you can dash dance but when your feet start to to move rapidly you're in run and you can crouch out of that. You can also Waveland in place then D-Tilt if you're still in dash.

Just walk if you're too close to get into full run, wavedash forward at close ranges is sliding at the opponent vulnerable for a quarter second with Marth panting.
