Before you tell me this question should be posted in the button mapping sub-section, I did post their originally, but after almost a week with no help, I'm turning to the general discussion, seeing that it gets more daily attention.

As for my problem, my button layout is as follows for the wii u pro controller:
(A)Standard Attack
(B)Special Attack
[X]Jump
[Y]Jump
(L]Shield
[R)Shield
(ZL]Grab
[ZR)Grab
(o)Movement
(c)Smash
+Taunt

I noticed I can do the forward tilt by very lightly moving the stick forward and pressing A, but that's not very reliable. I've tried to get used to it, but forward smashes come out when they shouldn't. So my question is, is there a more optimal setup that will allow me to use all of a characters moves without an issue?

thanks in advance.

Try mapping the C-stick for tilts.

You could always map them to C-Stick... I've never had this problem, though. For me it looks like the character is about to take a step forward... Stop them by attacking and they'll tilt. I really don't know what else to say because I've never had the problem. You can also put in inputs while other moves happen... for example, while downthrowing, input up on your controller and press "a" shortly after for an uptilt.
I would say try it in training mode slow at first, unless you want to use your c-stick. I don't like using c-stick because I feel more comfortable with my hands over the face buttons, and it gives me more options with less effort.
