Is it safe to expect a price drop in the Wii U anywhere from six months to a year? I plan on getting one when SSB4 releases, but $350 is just a liiiittle much for me. I'll still get it regardless, but any opinions?

If the demand for a Wii U doesn't increase by the holiday season it's a safe bet to assume that Nintendo will have to drop the price a little bit

I don't see a price drop happening anytime soon. Isn't the Wii U already selling at a loss?

Hardly a loss, as soon as someone buys a game they make a profit from it.

They could drop the price by a 100 bucks because ya know people gonna buy smash bros or mario kart full price.
Ah, interesting. Thanks for that insight.

I guess it will depend on holiday sales, then. Wii held out for a good 3 years before a price drop, but that was because they sold like hot cakes. Especially with the Xbone and PS4 coming out, Nintendo's only competitive point is their holiday exclusives and slightly lower price. If People find the PS4 worth the extra $50-100 (assuming the basic bundle still exists), Nintendo will need to be able to react fast.

But I don't think there will be a price reduction in time for Pikmin 3.... which is when I need to have a Wii U. =P

I still suspect that there won't be a price drop for at least another year.
