Pressing buttons too fast (waveshine question)

So i was able to waveshine without ever thinking about it with fox and falco just fine until recently. Basically the problem is im pressing buttons too fast now and i try to wavedash out of shine while still in hitlag, while causes me to get stuck in shine.

The rhythm for short hopping out of shine on hit is still fine for me; I think that's because I have to move my hand to the cstick which is slower rather than just press the jump and L buttons which can be done very fast.

Advice like "move your fingers slower" isn't helpful, what im looking for is some visual clue that the hitlag is over or some way to have a rhythm for waveshining on hit. When I'm really concentrating I can do it but im doing it basically as fast as the game will let me and in the pressure of a match my natural tendency is to press buttons as fast as possible which makes me mess up.

I haven't really heard of this kind of problem before now. Maybe you should input the wavedash after the shine sound finishes?

Had the same problem..
You should have trained yourself in how long specific lags are (no hit, hit, shield hit, ??) to do the inputs at the right time. When I mess up I just remember the timings and it works fine again.
Also: If you hit with falco's shine, the shine shouldn't actually come out till it's max. size. You can cancel it without seeing it too good :S
Hope this helps!

You need to sit down and practice your tech skill but really focus on what you're doing. Not vs actual players just on your own but I also think your problem stems from playing both Falco and Fox. I sometimes run into this problem when I try to play Project M Falco then going to Melee Falco. You might also not be as consistent as you think with waveshines so just practice them more until the problem goes away. I understand what you mean by not being able to "move your fingers slower" but it's also good to know your characters limits.

Stop playing Fox and Falco at the same time. Some players can adjust to the timing and some can't. If you try to play them at once and don't have a clear and solid understanding of the timings for each deeply mentally and physically ingrained, you will continue to have these rhythm problems
