so i feel like i miss like 50% of my uthrow uairs because my opponent DIs them and i don't have enough momentum going to the side or whatever

i use up + a for uthrow uairing because it's a lot easier for me, though i feel it's kinda limited.

i use the c stick for pretty much everything else

is it worth learning uthrow uair with the c stick ? should i claw it if i don't trust that i can get my thumb down to the c stick fast enough ? it seems like really strict timing

thanks!

What I do is use the control stick to run, then use the control stick to jump as well, using the C-stick to do the upair with. You don't have to ever change the control stick direction to put in the upair like you would have to do with A so you can put your full attention on chasing their DI, and I think pressing the buttons to jump takes too long, and if you use the C-stick, you have to rush etc.

TLDR, use up for jump and direction, c-stick to upair.

Edit: i actually don't know if that made any sense at all.

For single jump uairs, I use the control stick to dash and jump, and then cstick to uair. For double jumps, I dash with the analog, jump once with x, and then dbl jump uair with up+z. 'm fast enough with this to consistently uair jiggs up to 100% on any DI.

Using the c-stick will help you meet some of the faster uthrow uair requirements (i.g.: Jiggs). No, it is not necessary to perform every uair with the c-stick, but practicing it and knowing how to use it wouldn't hurt.

^I'm starting to think that that is what I'm gonna have to learn to do; I can't hit Jigglypuff out of a grab at all. X.X

i use up to jump and c-stick for all my aerials

i think in your case it would be worth it to learn to uair with c-stick

when you start playing really good people they get really good at DI'ing uthrow uair so you gotta be very accurate and fast to connect at high percents.
