Practicing wavedash on dolphin?

So I'm pretty new to melee and I was talking to a friend and he was giving me some stuff to practice and I brought up wavedashing and he said it's pointless to wavedash if you aren't on a CRT. He said that dolphin combined with my crap 75hz LCD is not going to provide the consistency as a CRT setup would. Is this true?

edit: whoops replace wavedash with waveland my bad

Probably not 100% true, unless the lag is as significant as like 10 frames

Has your monitor ever been lag tested? Can your computer emulate Melee at 60 frames/second always? If both answers are yes (and good), practicing on Dolphin with a GC controller can help

I meant to write waveland instead of wavedash. My computer is good enough to run 60 fps consistently and I have a GC controller and the Wii U adapter using zadig.

The timing is tighter. Mistakes are more significant. Maybe if your monitor is a gaming monitor

If you think about it, the timing for the entire process is exactly the same as crt just the visual cues would be lagged.

id still always choose to practice any tech skill on a crt tho
