Wondering whether or not practicing against 20xx bots is viable to try and improve. If so, what level should I put them in?

If you want, level 1 will do. But since they don't adapt and make bad, predictable options, they are only meant to speed up your game play and to play safely to avoid their crazy combos or punishes.

If you want better, more meaningful practice, go to tourneys and play friendlies or invest in a setup to play NetPlay or Dolphin.

I like to shadow box a little and practice things then try to incorporate it to my gameplay by playing a lv9 in order to help my reaction time and muscle memory. Things like Shine Bair OoS or certain type or pressure that just gets punished because of their frame perfect shines if you're too slow. If you focus on adding new things to your gameplay they are pretty good. If you're not careful you'll end up with bad habits that only work on them though.

I usually try to make my way up the tier list as I practice, and this increase my adaptability.
