I'm currently learning the advanced techniques... my friend (calls himself flappy flag...) hasn't really tried any yet except for stuff like shield grabbing and teching.

If you notice i miss my drill shine a lot because i always time the fastfall too early... but i can do it in the air. I can do it when i'm at home practicing though so i guess i jus tneed to practice more. Anyone else have this problem too?

don't shield or roll so much. try not to down smash so much. Use other aerials a little more. You don't always have to grab out of shield.
