Powershielding

Is it better to lightshield to powershield? From my understanding, you powershield a projectile when you press shield on the frame that your shield and the projectile overlap (but not hitting your hurtbox of course). Since lightshield is bigger than a regular one, wouldn't this make sense? Also, I don't even know how powershielding works for melee attacks.

Powershields only happens if you do full presses.
