Powershielding in PM

Hey does anyone have any general tips for getting the reflecting powershield? In Melee I could do it pretty consistently, but in PM the timing actually seems more strict, or maybe the hitbox for the perfect powershield is smaller than in Melee?

I'm not sure about the size of the box, but if I recall correctly the frames are the same as Melee: 4 for regular powershield, 2 for reflect projectile version.

I can't say that I've noticed any difference myself, but I have taken the spring out of my R button, which I think makes it a lot easier to do.

I try to shield when the projectile would be inside my sheild, but not hitting me. This is, of course, assuming a full shield.

Hey this might be a place to post some ideas about powershielding non-projectile attacks:
Normally, if you drop the shield (just let the button go, not referring to a platform shield drop), you have lag before you can perform the next action. There is none if you powershield drop (plz correct me if I am mistaken, I am not entirely sure). Characters with fast jabs could be faster powershielddropping->jab than shieldgrabbing. Is this of any use or doesn't it work for some reason?

Someone actually just gave me some good advice regarding this. Before that, the hitbox is not smaller. Power shielding works with the same frames as in Melee like 9bit said. If the projectile is inside your shield within 2 frames of you shielding, you'll power shield reflect.

The advice:
If you dash away or crouch before shielding, perfect shielding is easier since your character's hurtbox is further removed from where the shield will appear, making it more plausible for you to shield with the projectile already IN your shield.

While crouching makes it easiest for a lot of characters, dashing away is far more practical since you can do that out of a dash dance or fox trot.

I see how this would open up a lot of options. Maybe it's cuz the models in Brawl seem bigger, but I figured the timing and everything was the same.
