So powershielding is hard and the fact its not a button makes it even more difficult, i have the timing but the fact i have to pull the trigger all the way down makes me miss it occasionally compared to if i used a button. so my question is does anyone know if its possible to assign my unused jump button (X) to be a hard shield? thanks guys

what I do is hold in my L or R button before plugging the controller in, so powershielding is easier.

Tbh, I don’t like the idea of using X for L/R. Your thumb is already busy pleasing A, B, Y and the C-stick, so having powershields be done by your index is a good habit.

I’d rather recommend taking out the spring or, even better, cutting it down to half length. I haven’t done this yet but I’m sure that you will still be lightshield, but the motion to achieve digital press will be much shorter. Additionally, you can pierce the rubber plates of the L/R buttons with a scissor or knife several times to decrease the click resistance. This I have done several times and it was always an improvement.

not as far as i know, ive never had a problem. i think macros and turbos are banned but beyond that i dont think so.
Reprogramming buttons is considered an illegal tactic and is not eligible for tournament use technically. However, you shouldn't run into any problems. Just wanted to make sure everyone was aware of the actual rules...
