OK, I am not a Skull Kid supporter or protestor. I am not a supporter or protestor of Shiek, Cranky Kong, or any other characters that had their main role or only appearance in games from the late SNES-N64-very early GCN era.

BUT I am sick of people saying these characters cant get in because they are too old. Yeah, Link and Zelda are in TP clothes and Wario is not in the Wario Land costume, since that counts for so much. But it seems like SOME people seem to think only characters born in theGCN-Wii era and NES-early SNES era will get in Brawl.

How about this example: RED! He was created on a game in the original GameBoy, just before the GBC came out. If I am not mistaken, this was the N64 era. So that theory I described above = pwned.

The trainer in Brawl appeared in FireRed and LeafGreen for GBA not the original gameboy, plus why would anyone want Skull Kid in brawl? the Zelda series is moving forward, why put Skull Kid a cult favorite of the hardcore Zelda fans as a character and not Midna and Vaati who are still in their prime? Skull Kid's time is up, there are better characters to consider.

Sorry are you one of those who think Skull Kid is a retro character just because he is past gen? He doesn't deserve ****, AT at most.

I won't consider anything above NES retro until they start printing, say N64 Retro T-Shirts at places like Hot Topic...

This thread is stupid Red wasn't even in the original gameboy game.
Yes, he was. >_< While it is true that Pokemon Trainer's design is based off of Red's design in FireRed/LEafGreen, it is also true that his design in THOSE games was based off of his original design in Red/Blue/Green/Yellow, as FireRed/LeafGreen are remakes of Red/Blue/Green.

But he did originally appear on the Game Boy. The Trainer in Brawl is simply using the updated design from the GBA remakes of the original Game Boy games. It's the same character, just with a different look. Also, Pikachu, Jigglypuff, and Mewtwo were from the original Game Boy games too, so the Trainer argument is superfluous anyway.

He's still Red from FireRed/LeafGreen for GBA and not original Gameboy.
That's irrelevant. He's still a character that originated in the original Game Boy games.

What point are you trying to make? That's Red, who originated from the original Game Boy games; he's just in his updated look. Red from Red/Blue = Red from Gold/Silver = Red from FireRed/LeafGreen. The only difference is that his outfit changed. He's still the same character.

But he is using his new render, just like Link and Zelda are using their newest renders, which pwns everything that he says in his first post, what point are you trying to make?

Are you implying that Pokemon Trainer only got in because he was in a recent remake? If Twilight Princess was never made, would you suggest that Link wouldn't make it in because he would end up wearing an N64-era outfit? I don't understand why the outfits seem to matter more than the characters themselves for you. Besides, Pikachu, a character from the late SNES/early N64 era is in Brawl too, which falls within the supposedly "off-limits" section mentioned by the original poster, which undeniably supports the original poster's claims.

No, it means the most recent installments take precedence over the old ones, TP replaces OoT, and neither Pokemon in the game would be popular without the anime, they are hardly in Smash because of their ingame personas.

Pssh No, Hot Topic has repulsive crap.
So does American Eagle.
