Possible new AT?

This may be intentional/already known and I'm just being the last person to figure this out, but I've done this a few times today. I was playing with my friends and I transfered Mario's b-up attack from one person to another.

Like:

[Snake(about to Jump)] [Mario]B-uping[Sonic] >> [Snake]being B-uped by [Mario]
---stage---
_________

I just changed directions on the control stick and Mario turned around and started hitting Snake.

I'm probably the last to know about this, but in the case that this is something new/useful here it is.

It is just you reversing your up b. Practically every character can do it.
