Possible Double Marth Strategies in 2 vs. 2 Tournament

Here's the situation:
There is a small local 2 vs. 2 16 team (at-the-most) double elimination tournament coming in less than 2 weeks. My friend and I have entered the tournament but are looking for possible strategies for our dual-marth duo.

*I would like to emphasize that this will most likely be a very low-skilled tournament (compared to 1 past tournament) with a small payout. So for example only about 20% of the teams will any clue of what shuffling means. And a well-organized team could easily advance deep into the tournament, IMO.

**The maps will be 95% Final Destination

Now to my friend and myself:
We have a very similar skill level but there are some differences in our general game strategies

Me
Generally offensive, Once somebody is in the air I keep them there racking up the damage, and great timing, usually wins 1 on 1 situations

Him
Generally defensive, one mistake when attacking him will result in a well-timed grab (which he is *AMAZING* at) and a throw/attack to the edge for some edgeguarding. He's ok in 1 on 1 situations

I would most likely be considered the better player but if he and I were to face off, I would only win approx. 20% of the time. I'm sorry I don't have any videos.
EDIT-Oh yeah, I'm finally starting to beat him successfully with some killer SHFFLing/and tipped d-airs.

Finally my question, does anybody have any general strategies, setups, or move combos that we could use/keep in mind, while keeping in mind the level of this tournament. Done!
:colorful:

P.S. If you need any more info (sorry no videos) just say so.

noobs don't tech very well, especially not during 2v2. it's not a team combo, but a good strat for marth to use. downthrow into backsmash, works most of the time.

Do you have a good video that I would be able to give to a beginning player?
youtube.com :>
plenty of awesome marth videos out there.
make sure they know the basics, shffl'd fairs, chaingrabbing, etc. just that stuff alone will **** a low level tournament.
btw, downthrow to backsmash doesn't work against all characters at the same percentage. but it really does well against people that don't tech. also remember you can grab someone, forward throw, then either you can fsmash them or your marth partner can.
the dthrow to bsmash/fthrow fsmash doesn't work in higher level play, so don't plan on it always working against smarter/faster players that know how to di and can tech reliably.

Wound of the Wind

Evolution

Easily imo the best introduction to "amazing how can people do this stuff I want to learn!" videos. Old but gives you a good look. After they have been extremely amazed, you show them this:

Wak's Advanced How To Play

Tell them to watch all the parts and practice. This should be all the videos you need to get new players insterested and on the right track.

Yeah, I just showed the guy the how to guide and he seems to be getting the basics. BTW Evolution is one........ long ......video.

I've been thinking, what would "generally" be the best strategy in 2vs.2 on Final Destination: sticking together near a edge, sticking together in the middle, not sticking together, or trying to make the match 1 on 1 for each person?
