Hey everybody. For no apparent reason, I decided to look through P:M's files, particularly its common5.pac, and I discovered that possible new content for the next version has been hanging under everyone's noses for quite some time now. Let me share my findings with you. Please note that this could've been done for absolutely no reason whatsoever by the PMBR or, as you'll soon discover, could go as far as revealing an entirely new character.
Ahem...
I've noticed that some characters have extra, unused stock icons that are copies of their default one. My theory is that these could be new alternate costumes, but, like I said above, take everything with a grain of salt until announcement are made.
Here is every character that has extra stock icons and how many:
Link (1 Extra)
Ganondorf (4 Extra)
Mewtwo (3 Extra)
Wolf (3 Extra)
Your guess is as good as mine as to what these could mean. If they are alternate costumes, what could they be? Here are my ideas, but share with me your thoughts in the comments.
Link (Fierce Deity)
Ganondorf (Melee Default, Red, Blue, and Green)
Mewtwo (No clue whatsoever. Mega Mewtwo X/Y perhaps?)
Wolf (Again, no idea what these could be)
This next bit of news may be even more exciting. During my stock icon search, I discovered an unused icon for Pichu, ripped straight from Melee. Again, this may very well just be a coincidence. But if not, then this could be considered confirmation of Pichu's inclusion in the next version of P:M.
Nice findings, aren't they? Let me know your thoughts on this. Are these meaningless? Or could I really be on to something?
