I personally like the new tournament legal stage list (there were a few things about duck hunt I didn't like) but I know a lot of people are upset about Lylat Cruise being back. In my opinion Lylat is kind of like Pokemon Stadium in Melee. Yes there is jank to it, but it's pretty much the best available option compared to other stages.
Other video games have used custom stages at major events and these stages become a staple of the competitive scene. The biggest downside to custom stages is often the lack of developer support. But the smash community isn't considered to be heavily aided by developers anyway. So I'm just wondering if there is a legitimate chance of a custom stage being used in competitive play? It wouldn't be difficult to download the stage on all the Wii U's used at tournaments and it might be a better alternative to Lylat. Feel free to share thoughts and opinions.

I personally would like to see a custom stage. Either a remake of Lylat in it's default position where stage tilting wouldn't even be possible or a stage mimicking default Pokemon Stadium or Kalos where the stage would be flat with two platforms to the sides. Perhaps even use multiple custom stages. 1 Starter, 1 Counter Pick.

I've done a remake of every stage in the smash series without game breaking stuff (no walls, no walk offs nor hazards) so l absolutely support this idea.

I too have redone my share of stages in a similar manner. No walk offs, water, transformations, bosses like Ridley, etc. I'd love to check out stages you've done. When I play with my friends 80-90% of the time we are playing customs stages with a lot of remakes. There are parts of a lot of stages I like but there will be something about it that makes it unplayable and a custom version replicating it is super fun to play on.

I don't know if you're being serious or not, because Lylat Cruise is a perfectly acceptable stage. Stage tilting and the lack of easy ledge-snapping keep players honest with their recoveries and their tactics on and off-stage. The only players that suffer from those two aspects of Lylat, frankly, are lazy and/or unaware players.

However, I do want additional legal stages as well, although I don't know about how feasible it would be to require every set-up to have it. (Probably not hard at all if people download it beforehand)

The ledge tilting isn't as much about recovering as much as a steep slope can create issues with moves like it will cancel a move or remove end lag etc. That's the big issue with Lylat Cruise.

Mine is Ravengeance. I'll just browse your stages now that I have ur ID. Chances are we prob have both remade a lot of the same stages. I have to finish uploading all of mine. They all got removed one patch and I have to reupload but only 10 stages per day. Thanks again. =)

Do you have specific moves in mind? The only prominent one I know of is Pikachu's Quick Attack cancelling.

I personally dislike Lylat as a Corrin player, but for the sake of diversity it should definitely be legal.

Lylat is actually a huge boon for certain characters like Pikachu (because lol QAC), those who are good at sharking low platforms (Pit, Charizard, Mario, Luigi), rely on ledge cancelling (Zelda, Mewtwo, Palutena, Diddy?) and characters with projectiles that don't mind the stage curving on them (Villager comes to mind). On the whole, I think the stage dynamics boost character diversity and allow more characters to thrive in the stage list, as opposed to a potential meta of tri platform versus flat stages.

So I got to check out your stages. Really good job on them. We have similar remakes like my Castle Ruins to your Castle Siege 1, your Pokemon Stadium and my Flare Stadium, and we both had pirate ship, wario ware and lylat remakes. Your lylat i think is better than mine so I'll be using it for sure.

Cool thanks, l sent you the most competitive remakes l have because others like FoD or yoshis brawl have janky platforms and stages like yoshi 64 and norfair provides circle camping.

Yeah stages like norfair I don't think quite work as custom stages. Since you can't make a platform you can both grab the ledge of and also pass through. I never found a good compromise for that.
I did remake FoD myself but you can't replicate the platforms bc they move so slowly on that stage and you can't adjust moving platform speed at all in the game. I found it better to leave the platforms stationary and also that you could make a FoD level with just the top platform and remove the two side platforms. So you can kinda get 2 levels out of it.
