My problem is coming up with bridges and stuff. I feel like these might be a stupid questions:

What ARE the other parts of (most) pop songs besides chorus and verse? and

What kind of chord progressions do they have?

I've been listening to songs I like all night writing down their song structure but it's always nice to hear it from someone else.

For those of you that know what this means, help me out.

My song chorus goes like this:

I - V - vi - iii - iv - I - V6 - V

I was thinking of this for my verse:

I - I - V6 - V - vi - ii - V - V

That's what I have so far. Obviously, this doesn't include lyrics, melody and whatnot.

The most common order is:

Verse, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus.

At least with most rock songs. >>

They are right. I would aim at a different musical choice personally, but everyone has their tastes.
I used to write choral style. It was interesting but I wanted to write something more people my age listen to.

The most common order is:

Verse, verse, chorus, verse, chorus, bridge, chorus.

At least with most rock songs. >>
Thanks. I finally get a straight answer!

I did some of my own research and learned how to make a bridge. The vocals are usually a perfect 4th higher. That should be enough to lead me in the right direction.
