This is my first texture hack, Melee Kirby




This is not a recolor. These are the texture files from Melee converted to Brawl. I ripped the textures myself. The only thing I had to add were the yellow final smash eyes

I've already done all the Melee default textures in my own thread. Search for Wander's Texture Gallery, or I'll post a link in a second.

They're not perfect and the snapshots make them seem a little brighter than they look in the game, but that's all the Melee characters besides DK because he just would not work!

Added a few extras in there, too.

I'm not sure Wander, it looks like your textures just darkened the colors. Poodoas actually ripped the Melee textures and used them in place of the Brawl textures. Though for Kirby it isn't much of a feat, considering the textures are just about the exact same except for some color differences.

Still, these are neat! And you ripped them from Melee yourself?

Mine aren't direct rips because Kirby and Jigglypuff (maybe Pikachu) are the only characters that use the same basic models in Melee and Brawl. Especially people like Falco and Peach have many more textures in Brawl, and copying the textures straight over just would work. And it goes way beyond darkening the colors - I actually made them more vibrant in most cases, and my Link is one of the only ones I've seen that didn't just color in the clothes flat green, the hair flat yellow, etc. And the people in my original thread seemed to like them.

I have actually made BOTH Melee Kirby and Melee Jigglypuff. Also Melee Ness, which looks awesome. However for Kirby I had one colour only since that is all I snagged


Still, good job on posting them. I hope to see more, but I wouldn't do Bowser; his textures in SSBM are waaaaaaay too small in comparison to its godly Brawl counterparts, which are bigger.

I am actually almost done converting melee Ness. I just have to fix his nose and sleeve and change his hair
