Ever since the official site announced that Mario will be using FLUDD, I've been wondering...

Since Luigi is, technically a clone, will he get his Poltergust 3000 as his down special?

Discuss.

it's a poltergeist first off. and secondly. a move that just sucks people in does not help in a match.

also, has anyone wondered why the fludd doesn't cause damage? is it that powerful?

But the vacuum that Luigi uses is called the Poltergust 3000. It's a pun. I hate it when people say it's "Poltergeist 3000". It's not.

Tell that to Link's Gale Boomerang.

Must be. I imagine it's got some serious knockback, though perhaps only to characters with relatively high damage anyway. Otherwise, it might be broken.

EDIT:

@ Llumys
Luigi is not a clone. He just has some similar moves to Mario.

Technically he is, but his physics changed a lot, and his moves are just slightly altered.
No, he's not. All of his moves that are similar to Mario's still have drastically different effects and animations. The literal definition of a clone is a character whose entire moveset is identically copied from another. The only differences between clones are things like weight, speed, strength, etc.

Almost all of Luigi's attacks have different animations from Mario's. It took as long to make Luigi as it did to make any other unique character. He's not a clone, just commonly mistaken for one.

Actually, technically Luigi wasn't a clone in Melee. I'm not even competitive or into the advanced part of Smash, but Luigi's differences are very clear.

Anyways, there are tons of topics on this. My Luigi topic, a few other Luigi topics about this, and there was even a discussion in the Mario topic I believe.

Luigi was a clone in Smash 64, but isn't in Melee.

Topics already exist for Luigi and the Poltergust.
