Pokemon Trainer Matchup Video Showcase

It's tough finding good videos that have both players knowing the matchup well.

I have a couple in mind for various characters though. I'll go looking around.

Edit: Zeta also has a lot of vids of him vs tudor. Ima go look at them again nao.

i support projects like this, these boards are kinda a joke with the million match up threads. and other random threads like one about a "glitch" from a troll with now vids.


lets put some work into this idea boys.

Well ill be searching youtube today to see if i can find some good videos that are hopfully recent.


If you have constant friendlies with a person that mains a specific character, then you should try to get some videos recorded

i think typhs matches vs m2k show a really good squirtle vs MK and skipping IVY vs mk also good.

but his zard got wrecked.

I have no idea who chuck is, he has always been a compeltely mystery to the PT boards. I only saw him play that match on the live stream, which i was recording. I did go to the same tournament a long time ago (Hobo 11) and we both placed 9th place there, but we did not run into each other and i did not know he existed there.

Heres my theroy

He wanted eitehr, for charizard to get the KO(obviously that would be a good thing)
or more likely
He wanted squirtle to come out unfatiqued, i dont know about yall but when fighting diddy kong it can be tough to ko with a fatiqued squirtle (as Always)

He let squirtle get KO'd instead of sacrificing him to renew the stamina. He decided that would be the better trade off then the damage he would take when he switch from ivy to charizard. Using charizard to once again put damage on diddy kong he would be able to sent out a unfatiqued squitle again allowing for a easier KO


Basically, squirtle was never fatiqued that match

only the first two were recorded, i have the third but it freezes for a 1/3 of the match, also it waas on spear piller and the diddy kong KOs himself and then get KOd by the stage.

Ill be uploadign alot of oh snap videos

Makes sense Magik. When I was thinking about it I only took into consideration that he was still letting squirtle get fatigued in the second stock anyway (so i didn't see why you wouldn't just start with squirtle), but starting with zard does make it more likely that we'll have an unfatigued squirtle for the later portion of the last stock, which is pretty handy.

Still pretty risky though. Diddy can steamroll zard pretty well. I suppose its better than having a fatigued squirtle for the final stock.

well there was also some small detail about that match

Those two are mates and play each other very frequently, so he knew he wouldnt get completely wrecked by his diddy kong


This was also one of the reason i decided to list who they start out with in the videos i place, it can have a huge effect on how you play the matchup

where i am from in norcal EVERYONE plays diddy.

its a joke among us too that we are know for our diddys.

squirtle and ivy **** with nanners though and zard can still up b side b and flamethrower while holding a nanner

hey now its not my fault the entire pokemon trainer baords have a rate of 1 new video every month.

I wouldnt call using futile airdodges and dealing 20% with charizard a matchup showcase video

i think m2k was too aggressive in those vids

regardless i think it's a good showcase of what squirtle can do to aggro MK, it's not like we have a lot of videos to choose from anyway

we just need a vid of charizard handling campy MK

also chuck starts charizard in lots of matchups, its his favorite of the team

and chuck is hella good. he doesn't really care about the boards though and lives in an area where there isn't much smash.
