ok thats it .....i need to know..


why is it that when my pkemon lv up some of their stats go up at least 2 or 3 but when my pikachu lvs up his stats only go up 1 and if im lucky his hp or speed goes up 2 and im espesialy annoud at his def. it always gos up 1 never 2 or 3 while my other pokemon thier stats look like this.


hp +2
attk +3
def. +4
sp attk +3
sp def +2
speed +3


while pikachus would look like this.


hp +1
attk +1
def. +1
SP attk +2
sp def +1
speed +2

so wtf.? this is on pearl by the way.

Ithas nothing to do with IVs. It has everything to do with base stats. Pikachu has pretty low base stats. The only notable ones being Speed which is why you see it go up the most.

Your other pokemon likely have a higher base stat total so their stat growth will be more well rounded.

Pikachus base stats : 35 55 30 50 40 90

Infernape base stats : 76 104 71 104 71 108

it has bad base stats, yes but with light ball, its godly
458 attck or 436 spattck. omg

Pikachu is indeed an awesome Pokemon :D It needs much less support than Clamperl and is much harder to wall than the shellfish.

Anyway, if you want to see higher stat gains, go to Gamefaqs.com and look at an EV guide. There are screenshots of things getting like +18 in a stat due to EV training.

OF COURSE, I just learned about IV's and EV's today. So don't listen to me.

do EV training. ive gotten pokemon with a 22 stat gain. if you want to get your speed up verse pokemon with a high speed stat e.g zubat, golbat. give it a macho brace and that should help. or just go to serebii.net and look up EV training. it'll tell you everything you need

Ash's Pikachu is 4x weak to Thunderpunch.

Everyone seems to have forgotten about his run-in with Lieutenant Surge and his Raichu.

Regardless, as Chill said, it's all about the base stats. And evolving it is cool, but if you don't want to, that's fine, too, since Pikachu can equip a Light Ball to raise his stats and Raichu only gets +10 on Pika's base stats, anyway.

Pikachu is awesome--he's actually surprisingly competitive. Whoever made the comparison to Clamperl also gets +4 points.
