We need more details, please.
- Homebrew or hackless?
- What size is your SD card? If it's a PNY card, the label may be incorrect, so check via File Manager on your computer. (right-click on the card, and select "Properties")
- Is your SD card labelled (named) "projectm" or any variant thereof?
- What's this "grey box with a circle swirling in it"? I've never heard of this before.

Ahem, the "grey box with a circle swirling in it" is a custom stage that is being loaded. My guess is that if you're using a Micro SD, the lock slider probably got stuck in the middle. the files of P:M are setup to be loaded as a stage, and when you go to Stage Builder, it loads the "stage", therefore taking you to the launcher. Homebrew method would load P:M from the Homebrew channel, so there would be NO NEED to go to Stage builder.
