PM only works half of the time?

I realize that there are other threads on the matter of PM not working properly but most of them seem to have the problem of their PM not working no matter what they do, I have a different problem, I have been using PM for maybe 2 or 3 months now and usually there are no problems. However recently about every other time I go to boot it up it sits at the custom stage select waiting for PM to load forever, one time it even went back to the wii menu after i chose create a stage oddly enough. I have downloaded and redownloaded the newest version of PM multiple times and it still only works about half the time which sucks because I have to unplug the whole wii in order to try again. But as soon as I do and try again it works just fine even though I did nothing different. Is there a more stable version or some reason why this happens? and does this happen to everyone?

This happened to me quite frequently when I used the hackless version. The solution is to wait a little bit before going into the stage builder and it should boot up properly.
