I'm 75% sure that it works. You just have to(correct me if I'm wrong) wait to insert the SD card until after you've opened the Wii menu.

I'm also curious about whether or not this is possible. Is there a definite answer?

Even if PM does boot up on the Wii U, there aren't any GC controller ports, right? Would the USB>GC Controller converter for computers work with the Wii U?

I know, but I've heard elsewhere that, when using GC controller > Wii U adapters on some Wii/GC, some games like Brawl don't recognize the GC controller properly...

It works perfectly on my wiiu you just have to open the wii menu and go about it the same way you would on the original wii.

ps. I use the adapters and it recognizes the gc controls for brawl and project m

I'm curious how you feel about the adapter. I've heard many negative things about it, such as you have to move the analog stick farther than usual due to it treating it like a Classic controller. How do you find it?

PM works perfectly on a Wii U. Just make sure the SD Card is inserted before you start up the Wii Channel, as not doing so can cause freezes and bugs.

Been having the best gaming experience in years on the Wii U with PM!! The Mayflash GC adapter works great for me, but Im sure "frame junkies" would agree their is some latency. Only bad thing I've heard is- if you leave the SD card in the Wii U and start up in WiiU mode, the system will erase the SD card. Not sure if true (sounds like BS) but just to be safe I keep it out.

Like someone already stated, there is an adapter. And it isn't the only controller that works for this...

The adapter simply
I'd also love to hear what people think of the adapter. I've been using a Classic controller pro on my Wii U.
The adapter simply makes your GC controller read as a classic controller, so anyone saying it doesn't register with brawl is BSing. I use it and play project M on my Wii U regularly, works just like normal. The buttons are even preset correctly

But that makes light-pressing L-cancels impossible then, since the wii classic controller's shoulder L/R buttons aren't analog...right? And don't they only have one shoulder button on either side...? (no equivalent Z button?)

Classic controller has two triggers on each side

As somone who plays on his wiiu using a nayflash gamecube port, i can say it works excellently.

Just make sure you have batteries for your wiimote and wait until the wii menu to insert your sd card c:
