Hello everyone! My name is The One Who Wrote This and it's a pleasure to join all of you!

I'm an avid Smash Bros. fan ever since late 2001 or early 2002 (can't remember for sure) and I enjoy all of the games in the series to this date. Competitively speaking, I recently got into competitive Melee and Brawl this past year at college, but I knew about terms like L-cancelling, DACUS, and SHFFLing beforehand. I don't know if I'll be able to go to tournaments like EVO or APEX in the future, but I can certainly do local events around the DC area.

Anyways, I like maining Ganondorf in Melee because he is a great punishing character in the game (even though he might only be 10 out of 26 on that tier list thingy). He feels VERY natural to me and I REALLY love his aerial game. While he may not reach high heights like Falco, moves like the Vulture Kick, Skull Crusher, Hidden Gauntlet, and Thunder Drop are VERY powerful and allow me to get KOs pretty easily when they hit. Plus, I like the whole aerial Wizard's Foot jump refresh technique that he and Captain Falcon have. I play a bit as Marth and Captain Falcon as well, but I generally like the tank-like capabilities of Ganondorf (managed to survive at %ages around 150% for a good amount of matches I've played).

To be honest, the main reason why I mained Captain Falcon in Smash 64 is that he is (to me at least) sort of similar to Ganondorf in Melee. I kinda liked using raw power in the 1st two games. I also do like playing as Mario. I REALLY need to play Smash 64 a bit more.

In Brawl, I main Marth (as well as the occasional Ike and Ganondorf). I like the spacing game that he offers. Neutral Air, Forward Air, his throws, you name it. His counter is pretty useful in this game as well (no longer caps at ~7% like in Melee). Plus, the tip. I REALLY like hitting with the tip of the Falchion.

For Smash 4, I honestly don't know who I will main. I REALLY need to try them all out to see which one fits my playstyle for this game. Feel free to challenge me when the games come out at the end of the year! :)

Welcome to the forum! I just joined the other day, and I already love the people here. I like that you use Ganondorf a lot. It's a nice change from what I usually see in my group a friends. Mostly speed-types. I hope you enjoy your time here, and I look forward to getting to know you better.

Thanks mate! It's a pleasure to meet you too! :)

I could never handle the speedy types for some reason. I think I SDd myself a bit too much with them. I generally like to have the opponent make a mistake before I make my move, so you can KINDA say that I play a pseudo-defensive style.

Feel free to keep in contact with me mate! I look forward to seeing you on the boards and (if you are getting Smash 4) the For Fun and For Glory modes online! :bee:

+3 cool points for accepting the Triforce of Power into your life @ The One Who Wrote This The One Who Wrote This . Ganondorf is an awesome character, both in and out of Smash Bros.

Using D-Air (offstage) and the Ganon Canon (F-Air) for kills are among my favorite things to do. He's simply a beast :shades:

Indeed! And I'm actually expecting Ganon to finally get the moveset makeover that he deserves in Smash 4. More than likely, I'm expecting this to translate into being buffed.

Agreed. He REALLY needs to be decloned in Smash 4. Maybe reference Dead Man's Volley and that Quake Punch attack from OoT.

That being said, I DO hope they keep the Ganon Cannon, Flame Choke, and Thunder Drop (or have moves that have similar properties). They were VERY fun to use.

I definitely agree with the references. The Ganon Canon, Flame Choke and Thunder Drop are the main things that separate him from Captain, so yeah, those moves staying is perfectly fine.

My friend always LOOOVED to suicide bomb me with that dang Thunder Drop.
Always the best thing to do. Or when I'm up 1+ stocks, taking them to the underworld with an Aerial Flame Choke has always been funny when they jump out to edgeguard me/too close to the ledge :p

My friends ALWAYS hated it whenever I landed a Thunder Drop or an Aerial Flame Choke over a gap. The Thunder Drop is SOOOOOOO good! I do think I caused some people to become VERY angry this past semester when I landed a Thunder Drop that caused them to launch into the air like bottle rockets.

And to think that Smash 4 will have Meteors and Spikes bounce aerial opponents off the ground...... OOOOOOOOooooooohhhh, that's going to be SOOOO good!!!

I REALLY love pulling off an aerial Flame Choke. It just feels so epic! I do hope they adjust it such that Ganondorf isn't KO'd before the opponent is KO'd.
