After spending the whole day trying to get Project M 3.01 to work, I may have found the source of the problem, but I don't know how to fix it. I am running via Homebrew Channel, Cfg usb loader, boot from disc. I have Ocarina cheats On and set to VBI. When I try to load the cheats it says, "Too many cheats". I understand this is controlled by gameconfig.txt in SD root. I have the file, I even opened the file to compare to other files online, they are the same. Yet the loader still says, "Too many cheats" and if I boot the game anyways, it's vanilla.

Also, I have the 3.01 bugfix patch installed.

Quick question: Are you running off of your Wii or Dolphin?

If you're running off of Dolphin, use this video: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SP03UBBcqvw

This video is a bit old but will work. If you ARE running of Dolphin, I suggest booting P:M off of Gecko and not the launcher. (I still can't do it off the launcher)

Sure the Gecko bootup screen won't show the P:M image, but it still will work.

However, if you are booting off your Wii, then I'm sorry, I can't offer any help, but I will suggest that the Hackless option is the way to go because I had problems with booting from my Wii too.

Hope this helps.

First thing: Is your SD card >= 2GB in size?
Second: Did you put the Project M files on your SD card and not the USB drive?
Third: Are there any other RSBE01.gct files lurking somewhere in your file system? Look around on both your USB drive and SD card and eliminate any duplicates you can find, then reinstall the one from Project M.

Well, I've been playing the game off of Dolphin after failing to get it to work for my Wii. I went back and tried something so very simple....my SD card was named Project M, ONLY because the infographic for troubleshooting suggested it be named that in order to work. Or so it seemed at a glance. So if anyone out there has seemingly done everything they can to get this to work, make sure your SD card is NOT named 'Project M' or any variation of that. Just hit the backspace key and hit enter when the field is empty, leaving with 'Removeable Disc', and 'voila!', enjoy feeling stupid and being very angry at the infographic's grammar.
