I know I need to play to learn to improve, but I'm not really sure how to do that. I've heard I'm supposed to try and win specific situations in friendlies or "just do stuff and see what works" but I don't get what type of "stuff" I'm supposed to be doing.

I struggle a lot in neutral and have been told that my movement needs improvement by some of the better players. I can dash dance, l cancel, waveland, etc so I don't really get what they mean or how I'm supposed to learn how to do it.

I feel like I haven't been improving at all over the months I've been playing and I want to fix it. I look up a lot of theory and videos but can't apply much of it.

What they mean by that, is that your awareness needs to increase. You need to know habits, and learn how to punish someone for having one. You need to see how people respond to different kinds of pressure. Just study and video and notice a couple of different continuities.

Ex. When X gets stuck in shield to nairshine pressure, they always jump OoS to a platform or roll back.
