Sorry for asking a simple question that has been answered many times before

But how do I play online? Exactly what do I need, where do I go, what do I do... basically everything. Sorry for being a noob but I could not find this anywhere else.

One question: what type of controller do you recommend? I do not want to play this on my keyboard........ (The guide you linked to mentions a "360 controller" but I have no idea what that means.)

You can get an N64 controller adapter and GCN controller adapters. N64 adapters tend to have a lot of problems, and I hear the same for GCN, so I don't know. It's mainly compatibility problems.

Alternatively, you can play with an XBox 360 controller [what I use]. It's shaped kinda like GCN, but a different feel. Wired XBox 360 controllers are USB compatible, and after a while of that, you get used to it. Playstation styled controllers can also be used, but I HIGHLY don't recommend it.

Apparently, N64 adaptoids are best, but they are discontinued. Only adapters really exist now.

My old KB setups was:
WASD = Analog
J = A
N = B
M = L
K = Z
L = R
YUIO = C Buttons.

Slightly altered from Zantetsu's build.
