So lately I've been playing through Metroid Prime for the first time. (THAT WII-U TRILOGY PRICE IS INSANE) So with that and along with the fact I recently trained an amiibo I find myself picking Samus 70% of the time.

I cant decide whether or not prime is having an affect on my choice or whether it was my recent liking to samus in smash that made me wanna buy the metroid prime trilogy on the nintendo shop. (seriously though, $9.99 for 3 critically acclaimed games? that look good still? YES PLEASE)

Does this happen to you guys?
Do you find yourself wanting to pick a certain fighter because your playing that character in another game?
Or do you find yourself wanting to play a certain game based on the fighter you like to play as?

This happens to me a lot, in fact, just recently with Samus. I too bought the Prime trilogy. I main ZSS, but playing as her in her full-out suit made me want to play as true Samus. If it's a Mario game, I want to play as Mario.

Glad to see I'm not the only one.

I do find myself drawn to characters from the Zelda Series because of how much fun I had with Ocarina of Time, Majora's Mask, and Windwaker. (Trying to find time to play Twilight Princess... but I can't seem to find a long enough uninterrupted block of time and I hate interruptions during dungeons, and hate splitting dungeons into 2 play sessions more.)

But after smashing a while... that has weakened and I want to find a few Chartres who are both fun to play, and effective under the rules I usually play by. I ended up maining Lucas in Brawl and I have never played Earthbound. (I never tried to play competitively, and I felt he was good with the rules my friends and I normally play by)

Vice versa yes. I picked up Fire Emblem years back after enjoying Roy and Marth in Melee.

Both have happened to me. Most of the time, I play characters based on how much I enjoy using them. I only got into the EarthBound franchise because I played Ness so much. On the other hand, I started to play Shulk because I loved Xenoblade Chronicles, and I played R.O.B. in Brawl because he was in Mario Kart DS.
