20.00 In advance isnt really that high, keep in mind that if you are good at the game, which you should be if you are on these boards, then you of course will be confident enought to walk away with 50% of the money we get in entrance fees

kinda? its outragous! lol. if it was 15 or suttin my whole crew would go but i guess ill try and scrape up the money to go alone. unless they change the preices. which they should!!!!

We are thinking of doing 2 v 2 so the entrace fee is going to be 30.00 for the team, so 15.00 a person. Reasonable enough ?

its just that most tourneys, especially the smaller ones are half that price. and if there is a venue fee it normally like 5 bucks.

You gotta remember this isnt someone's house or a small building its a business that makes money. Plus the prize will be much larger...and of course there is the player 1 fame. 30.00 a team is the price. If ya cant come up w/ 15.00 a person then somethigns wrong >.<

is the house getting a cut for both singles and teams and where does the extra ten dollars for same day sign ups go to?

We were hoping to get enough money together to possibly give away a Wii but have since decided that there will be no extra fees for same day sign ups. The winner of the tournament will take home 50% of the money made.

Just remember that this is being held at a business, not a house. Good thing is we hope to hold these monthly or quarterly with the showup and prizes only becoming larger and larger, hoping to one day sponsor exceptional players to represent our lan center in the future.

Some advice ? FFA or 2V2 what does the SSBM community prefer ?

i know where its being held at. ive been there a lot. and yay @ no same day fee.

do 2v2. FFA is crap. and if you do 2v2 it would be sweet if you had an AV splitter so it could take place on two separte tv's....you know some mlg style ****

^ this needs clarification immediately, nobody is going to come if there isn't a singles event.

This is a joke thread! I get it! Maybe I'm silly, but I didn't even see an address!

And although it isn't someone's house, 30 dollars is alot of money. Unless you're M2k, you don't go to tournaments to win.

Smash is an RPG... We have to have experience to become stronger players. Usually experience comes at a cost of 10$ a head.

Singles, no items, 4 stock... come on, this is basic stuff.

If you're going to charge a horse's skull worth of money (Check out that analogy. Awesome.) you need to at least understand the game enough to set up a proper tournament. You think MLG just slapped some rules on halo? Hell, they don't even charge this much for smash, and they give away 20,000.

Check out some other tournament threads. Learn the rules. Maybe play the game with some local buffs, to gain a bit of delicious perspective. Come back, and alter things a bit.

If you have any questions, you can pm me on here, and I'll do my best to help ya out. ^^
