Smash 3DS Play Coins?

Does anyone think that ssb3d will use play coins like for stickers or trophies?

So you know how you could buy stuff with some type of currency when it comes to character upgrades and special move changes? Why not use play coins for that? I could imagine myself being quite skinny with this option in Smash 4.

well at e3 and comic con every time a person wins a match there would be coins in the top left hand corner there were a bronze coin a silver coin and a gold coin so it could have something to do with that

Hopefully play coins just give you something minor like hints on how to get characters or stages.

As said above, the player upgrades/customization would be a good use. Also give me a great reason to shake my 3DS for 4 hours straight go on walks more often.

Well, with the new PotD being shown, Play Coins can be used to buy trophies. At least they do something.

I usually dont even walk to get my play coins now, I just shake my 3ds.

Yeah, pretty much what xSoul said. Play Coins will be mainly used to buy things like Trophies, Stickers, Costumes for Miis, etc.

Well, I would hope you can use them to unlock some Mii Stuff for the Mii Fighters.

I farm play coins by shaking the DS a little, changing the date and repeating until I have enough, thereby completing defeating the purpose. Thankfully my supply of them is just about capped at this point, oweing to it being in my bag as I travel to work and back.

Nice to see the coins have a purpose in Smash. The only game I used them so far was Animal Crossing New Leaf.

The POTD doesn't exactly confirm play coin usage, but you probably can trade play coins for gold in game.
Edit: Looked closer at the pic, you can use play coins for trophies.
