Smash Ace
Sorry in advance if these have been discussed.
While messing around with a friend of mine to platform missile(for some reason he loved it in melee and wouldn't live without them lol) and found some easy ways to use them on platforms.
Missile canceled from a platform drop -
Press diagnol down forward on the control stick to pass through the platform and hold the stick forward while pressing the side B. For some reason while holding forward on the side B for the entire fall it lets the missile come out.
Another way to do this is with a down to forward motion with the control stick followed by the side B at the end. It's a lot like the old fireball motion from street fighter. (I found this way to work best since you don't move forward much in the fall and can use it for platform missiles)
Platform missile cancels -
So, using another technique with one of the platform drop through techniques above you can pull off a set of double missiles like the platform ones in melee. Sadly you can't cancel a short hop missile on the platform like melee.
There seam to be a few frames you can drop down faster during the full jump missile on the platform, but I never got it to work well. However pressing shield speeds things up ^^. Pressing the shield button while landing a missile cancel on a platform allows for a faster platform drop through. Using this style of missiles would be something like::
Full jump from below one of the lower platforms on battlefield
Launch a missile at the top of the jump
Press shield the moment samus touches the platform
Drop through the platform with a down to forward motion on the control stick
Side B again for the canceled missile while falling through the platform
If done right the first missile looks like a normal full jump missile onto the platform, a sheild flash, and then a missile fires while dropping through the platform. The technique isn't really 2 canceled missiles as fast as melee, but seams useful. I hope this isn't something old I overlooked and it can help some samus players out there. I got it to work with homing and smash missiles on both shots of the technique. Only tested it on battlefield.
