Platform Missile Cancel on Battlefield Question

From what it says here http://smashboards.com/threads/official-samus-missile-guide.105908/ , you can't SH MC on Battlefield's platforms, but I can get up there off a short-hop, but only if the missile is fired at the wrong time. I vaguely heard that Duck was doing it at Dreamhack or something. Is this possible? Thanks.

You can SH MC on Battlefield. If you immediately homing missile out of forward moving short hop, you will land on the side platforms. You have to be quick though.

Thanks . I'm thinking of getting into playing Samus. Just to make sure, they have to be homing?

Yes. You can MC without doing a homing but it's a bit different. If you jump and immediately double jump and fire a missile, you should land on the top platform. The timing takes a bit of practice but it's not as hard as the ESAM missile (The SH homing missile)

^i assume you made a typo and meant "on top of the platform" instead of "on the top platform"

Oh yeah. I mean you can do a reaaaaaaaally slow MC on top platforms if you want lol.
