Okay, I got bored today, so I connected to the WFC and played against some random guys. Of course, there was some idiot using Ike that could do nothing but repeat ground-based attacks. I was just spamming PK Thunder 2 the whole time, and I got a few KOs, and the game turned into a sudden death between me and him. I don't know what the hell he was thinking at the time, 'cause he just stood on the other end of the stage and repeatedly used the eruption attack. So, I sent a PK Thunder straight at him in an attempt to force him to approach me. It was the only attack I used during the sudden death, and it killed him. I don't remember if it was instant, though. Is this a rare occurence? I have used PK Fire, which racks up more damage during sudden death, and it never KO'd.

Nah, PK Thunder is extremely powerful at high percents and without diminished returns. If you get people high enough and out over the ledge, it's a piece of cake to send a PK thunder at them and make them die to the side of the screen with two consecutive hits (hit them once, knock them back, hit them the 2nd time).

Weird, I've gotten ko's with pk fire before, but it's only because we were in the middle or close to an edge. (work every time in sudden death if your opponent is unsuspecting) I've ko'd with pk thunder, too, so I don't think it's a "rare" occurrence.

Do you mean KO potential as in instant KOing or pushing them to their death?

I've never tried instant KOing, normally in sudden death I just PKT2 or roll into a fsmash/usmash.

If it does work as good as I hope I'll never lose an SD. :D
