PK Thunder 2 Angles

I'm sure this has been asked a lot, but there seems to be a problem with the angles on Ness and Lucas's PK Thunder 2. Diagonal directions seem to occur occasionally when you are attempting to travel in an adjacent direction.
Is this a bug, or am I using these characters incorrectly. I would hope it isn't the latter since I have been using these characters for ages.

Probably, however I remember hearing somewhere that there was an actual bug with the angles.

i nvr have a problem with lucas', ness' is just harder to land correctly imo

one of my mains is ness, and i never have a problem with PK thunder angles, unless im out of the screen
