Pivot walking (or walk crouching) useful for Luigi?

Try it out, Luigi is my 2nd, and I think this might make his approach game slightly better. I believe you also slide further with a dsmash out of this than when you are dashing. you can probably pivot Usmash/Dsmash out of it too, while still moving constantly forward. I would apprecate your help in finding uses for it.

So I think I kind of have the hang of it now, I can't use it in matches yet but I can do it.
So far the uses I have found are offense based. With this tactic you can be quicker, because Luigi slides more than other characters, it is like a pivot sliding fsmash.

It is really good because you can flip directions slide and charge fsmash. The end of the pivot walking is good because as opposed to Luigi's slight sliding after running, Luigi is back to the neutral fighting position, so moves come out immediately, AND from what I was doing Luigi contiued moving. So I think this is as close as we can get to wavedashing because we can attack while constantly moving.

The only real down side is the layout, by that I mean it is hard to be walking, holding a, and reaching to the c-stick.

I will surely practice this AT because it has great potential, especially for Luigi. Good work Doopliss.

Change your R or L trigger to attack. More comfortable >.> (if you don't use one, I NEVER use R, so I have it set to attack. Whenever I press A, I press and hold R in case I want to pivot walk)

Click the link, and actually read the entire thing.

First few sentences talks about changing a trigger to attack.
A few more sentences down has the video for Weegee performing this (someone requested to see it)

I am leaving now, until Monday, so I won't be here. In my absence want people to try out this development and think up uses for it.

The only thing I've gotten on it, since it doesn't make Luigi that much faster if at all than his walking speed(and you slide from a full speed walk just as well), is that it makes Luigi accelerate much faster than he does when he starts to walk. When you pivot dash you're essentially going full speed right away, versus the time it takes Luigi to start moving full speed from standing still to a walk. I suppose that can be handy for people who are looking for every single tiny advantage they can find, cutting out the time it takes to accelerate is certainly faster to go from something like a SHDA w/ a falling nair set up into a pivot dash for the equivalent of an instant full speed walk sliding dsmash, but for me it's too many button inputs for minimal gain.

I haven't had time yet but the only other thing I can think this may be useful in is potentially a faster way to counter out the momentum in a slide when Luigi gets pushed away by something. I'm just guessing but the pivot dash may be significantly better than all of Luigi's other options to get going quickly back the other way.

I just noticed after all that that you can just land into a full speed walk anyway. Apparently you carry the momentum or something, I dunno, just hold over when you hit the ground and Luigi's already going as fast as he's going to go.

If only this gave Luigi melee wavedash like speed... :sigh:

I can't find a good use for it, but I do see potential for a good "WTF is he doing?" moment for the opponent. Plus, it looks funny.
