Hello everyone, ive got a question thats bugged me for some time. Often when I go to pivot grab I get a pivot Ftilt instead. Is there any explanation for this?

My control setup is as follows

Wiipad/wiiupro
A: attack
B: special
Y: grab
X: jump
Cstick: attack
R: shield
ZR: jump
L: jump
ZL: shield

i think your timing is off, you're probably grabbing a bit too late
try practicing it in training mode for a little bit (that's what helped me)

but why ftilt? what about that is hitting attack???
The grab button is a hotkey for "shield + attack" instead of simply "grab."
Mistiming the input during a pivot, which is an animation where your shield cannot activate, leaves only the "attack" input registering from the button press and results in an f-tilt.
